Who do you teach?

I am happy to teach men, women, boys and girls. Age is not usually an issue, although I prefer children to be over the age of 11 years old. Parents are welcome to watch the lesson.

Where do you teach?

I teach from home on my own kit using my Roland V-Drum TD-8 Kit. This is necessary because of volume control and it also allows me to instruct pupils while they play without having to shout.

When do you teach?

I try my best to find everyone a teaching slot that suits them. It is important that pupils arrive for their lessons on time. When pupils are late for their lessons it is not always possible to make up for lost time, especially if I have other pupils booked.

Do I need to be able to read music?

No – but all pupils are taught how to read music at their own pace.

I've had lessons in the past with another teacher...

No problem, but bear in mind my teaching methods will differ from your previous tutor’s. When more experienced students start with me the first thing I do is assess their playing technique. Although everyone’s technique is different, I believe bad habits should be addressed from the first lesson. If you’ve been playing for a few a years and your left hand is sloppy, or your posture is lazy, rest assured, I will tell you!
